Background: The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between group discussion teaching method and social ethics: the mediating role of adjustment and academic enthusiasm (Case study: male high school students in Nasiriyah). Method: The research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of method and was conducted quantitatively. The statistical population was male high school students in Nasiriyah, of whom 162 were selected as a sample using cluster sampling. The instrument was a standard questionnaire and the structural equation technique with SmartPls was used to analyze the data. Results: The group discussion teaching method has an effect on academic enthusiasm with a coefficient of 17.004 at the 0.000 level. In addition, the group discussion teaching method has an effect on academic adjustment with a coefficient of 15.011 at the 0.00 level and social ethics with a coefficient of 2.44 at the 0.00 level. It was also found that academic enthusiasm and academic adjustment have an effect on social ethics with coefficients of 3.35 and 2.02, respectively, at the 0.00 level. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that students with high adjustment skills usually participate more in group discussions, and this participation creates a significant improvement in their social ethics. In addition, the positive and supportive learning environment formed through the group discussion method increases academic enthusiasm, which in turn develops appropriate and ethical social relationships in students
