Ethics and Social Responsibility: Providing a Local Model in Mining Companies

Background: Companies have different reactions to respond to new demands, so that some companies have changed their culture and accepted the corporate social responsibility as the core of their business activities. The purpose of this study was to present a local model of ethics and social responsibility in Gol Gohar Mining and Industrial Company of Sirjan.
Method: The method of this research is descriptive-survey and correlational research design. The statistical population of the research is experts aware of the subject and managers of Gol Gohar mining and industrial companies. To identify the experts, the snowball sampling method was used and the sample size of the experts was 44 in total. Structural equations and partial least squares method were used to analyze the data using PLS software.
Results: The results of structural equation modeling show a positive and significant effect of factors related to social responsibility on social responsibility. Based on the results, barriers to social responsibility have a negative and significant effect on social responsibility. Based on the research findings, the status of social responsibility in the study population has been assessed at the desired level (above average).
Conclusion: In the field of corporate social responsibility, executive plans regarding ethics are prioritized over organizations and companies such as mining and industrial companies.
