Elderly and Social Ethics
Abstract:   (1988 Views)
Background: Negative beliefs and stereotypes about aging guide the lifestyle of people in a society and its behavioral and psychological consequences affect mental and physical health. Many individual and social problems have moral roots. In the shadow of social ethics, the social security of individuals is maintained. The present study examines the attitude of society towards aging and immorality that have caused negative stereotypes in society. Therefore, realistic expectations and gaining knowledge about the stages of aging reduce anxiety in old age and reduce age discrimination in society.
Conclusion: Due to the expansion of the population pyramid of the elderly, old age has become more prevalent and has been accepted by society. This acceptance has exposed the elderly to social pressures and negative stereotypes. Gaining insight and knowledge about the process of life and observing social ethics and supporting and planning the government and relevant agencies of the elderly, reduces age discrimination and increases mental health in society.
