Analysis of Demographic Factors Related to Ethical Decision Making of Soccer Players

Background: Decision making as an organized form of ethical thinking is used as a mediator in solving ethical struggles. The goal of this study is, investigating the condition of ethical decision making in players of premier league and determining its related demographic factors.
Methods: Research method of present study is descriptive- correlation. Population of study included all soccer players of Iranian premier league in 2012-2013(N=396). From all, 162 soccer players selected from 11 teams as a sample. The Dilemmas in Professional Soccer Questionnaire (DPSQ) was performed for gathering data. Finally, data analyzed by one-way variance analysis (p<0.05) and path analysis.
Results: Findings showed that ethical decision making of players had an unfavorable condition and most of players had a low responsibility and judgment, consciously. In addition, findings showed a significant relation between demographic factors (individual, professional and occupation experiences).
Conclusion: According to results, determining and growing talented players and managing their individual, professional and occupational ethical experiences may be lead to improving ethical conditions in soccer players. |
