The Effect of Faith Morality on Sports Out of Immorality

Background: considering the high status of sports in society and its irreplaceable effects, as well as the spread of unethical practices in this phenomenon, which has led to a distance from the main goals of sports; It is expected that the issue of ethics, especially the ethics of faith, will be given more attention to everyone. Therefore, the purpose of the current research was to investigate the effect of faith ethics on the elimination of immorality in sports.
Method: The method of conducting this qualitative research, and its statistical population included experienced professors of sports management and ethics and Islamic education, directors, deputies and members of the disciplinary committee of professional clubs and directors and deputies of the general sports and youth departments. The statistical sample was selected by snowball method and their number reached 16 people. The tool and method of data collection was an individual semi-structured interview. In order to analyze the data, Glaseri's grounded theory approach including two main steps of real and theoretical coding was used.
Results: During the real coding process, 536 initial codes, 99 concepts and finally 8 main categories were identified. These categories were divided into two general dimensions of factors affecting ethics-belief in the sports environment and behavioral styles affected by ethics-belief in the sports environment. In the stage of theoretical coding, the final model of the research was drawn, focusing on the central category of the influence of faith-ethics in the elimination of immorality from sports.
Conclusion: Investigating and presenting the effective indicators on faith ethics and its effect on the elimination of immorality in sports can lead to the recognition of the problems in this field and provide suitable solutions to reduce the gap between the existing and desirable situation of ethics and faith in sports |
