Validation of the Indigenous Model of Iranian Press Competitiveness with Emphasis on the Ethical Component of Supervision and Transparency

Background: Among the media, the press has a great role in raising the various and necessary awareness of the people by producing and distributing information and helping the society to achieve excellence and all-round progress. Therefore, in this study, based on competitiveness approaches, an attempt was made to design and critique the indigenous model of competitiveness of the Iranian press with emphasis on the ethical components of supervision and transparency.
Method: The research method was mixed (qualitative-quantitative). In the qualitative part, the method of qualitative content analysis with inductive approach was used. There was a community of media and communication management experts who were selected by theoretical purposive sampling method of 13 people. Data collection tool was a semi-structured interview and data analysis was performed by coded theme-based theme analysis. In the quantitative part, the descriptive-survey method was used. The statistical population was the media and press managers of Iran who were selected by a non-probabilistic random sampling method of 30 people. The researcher-made questionnaire was used and three methods of data envelopment analysis, Bernardo method and Cook-Seyfred method were used.
Results: The results showed that competitiveness was emphasized by emphasizing the ethical components of supervision and transparency at different levels based on three dimensions of innovation and progress, productivity enhancing factors and ethical requirements and eleven components.
Conclusion: The indigenous model of competitiveness can be used by emphasizing the ethical components of supervision and transparency in order to gain a competitive advantage in the Iranian press. |
